My team and I took over the crowdfunding video production and created the content for the Kickstarter page. Our task was to create a funny film about a smart bottle. Everything was clear and simple. But the problem was that the project started working during the 2020 pandemic when everything was closed. And we could not rent studios. However, the team was ready to work. At that time, I was renting a room for a studio. For this reason, I suggested the client build 3 locations for commercial video production. He liked the idea, and we got to work.
P.S. Thanks to this project and a new approach to product video production, I opened a unique offer for my clients – creating turnkey sets and locations in our studio. This became especially true during the COVID-19 pandemic when all studios were closed.
We did a similar job for commercial video production for projects:
- Mizu Towels – We built an entire bedroom in rich yellow where the actor was talking about towels.
- Prima Projector – In our studio, we created a romantic atmosphere where the actors watched the film through a projector.
Pre-production Crowdfunding Video Production
For product video production, we made a detailed script, prepared a detailed storyboard, built the necessary rooms, selected actors, and spent several days shooting to get all the required frames.
As I said, for the crowdfunding video production of this project, we needed 3 different locations: a guest room, a kitchen, and a laboratory. Each location was in monochrome, and all the details and decor were painted in the desired color.
Accordingly, for each room, their details were selected. For example, we made an imitation of a window on the wall for the kitchen. And for the guest room, we had to paint an artificial flower in a pot in the desired paint color. Everything was done to ensure that the product video production fully met expectations and was catchy.
Post-production services
This project’s crowdfunding video production process was lengthy as we had to change several locations. During this time, the client changed the supplier, and the appearance of the bottle was changed. We made 3D graphics during the post-production services to visually complete the desired bottle interface.
Also, at the post-production stage, full grading was done (I suggest comparing the draft and final film to ensure the quality); we added a lot of animation and text and coordinated the frames with the voice acting.
Draft Video
The editor did a draft edit to ensure we had all the right footage for product video production. We superimposed the shots already taken on the voice-over, and together we assessed whether everything corresponded to the original idea. I also showed this to the client so that changes could be made early, saving the budget and avoiding wasting time on unnecessary steps in the crowdfunding video production process.
The Final Video
In the commercial video production for the crowdfunding campaign, we made a lot of interesting, funny, and tenacious shots, which were then used in filling the Kickstarter campaign page.
